Ximena grew up in Buenos Aires, became a photographer in Europe and is now living between NYC and Brussels. After decades of moving around the world, she feels at home in Europe, America or Asia. Her life has clearly influenced the way she looks at the people around her. She has always lived in big cities with a large floating population, which naturally led her to empathize with them. We all are migrants in different ways, moving around trying to improve our lot in life, as it has been since the beginning of times. She tries to capture this human dynamic in her photography, made of hopes fulfilled or shattered, with its drama and contradictions. The odyssey of human life.
Her work has been exhibited in Europe (Paris, Brussels, Spain, Italy, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland), America (New York, San Francisco, Miami, Buenos Aires) and Asia (China, Malaysia, UAE) and published in many photo magazines, including Leica Photographie International, Lens Culture, L’Oeil de la Photographie, Life Framer, National Geographic, PH Museum, Women in Street, The Independent Photographer, Inspired Eye, among others.
She was a finalist at Street Foto San Francisco (2019), Miami Street Photography Festival (2018) and Brussels Street Photography Festival (2016, 2017 and 2018).
She has been invited to conduct workshops, give lectures and be on the jury for several street photography events.
